Tomorrowland, Burning Man, Coachella, and thousands of other music festivals got canceled last year due to pandemic restrictions.

However, some festival organizers found an alternative to please some of their fans. Ultra Music and Exit festival are among many that transfer their live shows on “live-tv”.

Tomorrowland-2020

Let’s take Tomorrowland, for example.

Around 600 DJs and 400,000 clubbers were going to be part of the Tomorrowland music festival in 2020.

On the 18th of January began the sale of “Travel packages”. Tickets for DreamVille started a week after, and standard ticket sales started on Saturday the 1st of February.

Thirty minutes later, there was a sold-out, and tens of thousands of people could not buy tickets.

Plus, thousands of tickets were bought by agents who resell them at much higher prices through other websites such as viagogo — prices in the black-market increase from 45% to 110% of the original costs.

[Tomorrowland official website]:
Day Pass: 109€ – 200€
Three-day tickets: 295€ – 510€
[Viagogo Rates]:
Day Pass: 193€ – 335€
Three-day tickets: 428€ – 845€

Even the tickets sold on the black market disappeared in a few days.
